What is MOST ADVANCED and BREAKOUTS under IPC statistics for any PCT journal

Amitpatel.in
Dear All,

Their is option for IPC Statistics at following link: https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/statsIPC.jsf

When you visits IPC statistics link, one finds option for MOST ADVANCED and BREAKOUTS.

Could anyone please brief about:

1. Meaning of MOST ADVANCED and BREAKOUTS

2. How such patents have been extracted from other patents, based on what criteria.

3. What is the use and application of such data.

Thanks and Regards

The most advanced will show uptrends in IPC codes over the last 6 publications. This is reflected in the Serie column. In the Serie column, you have 6 figures, 1 for each of the 6 latest publications. Each number indicated the number of IPC code per publication

Breakouts indicate major changes in the use of IPC codes.

Those statistics are based on published PCT applications having at least one IPC code.

It is a picture of the global trends in the PCT applications. For example, it can show who the main and/or new main actors are etc.
